What this debate is really about

🔒

Malpractice and leakage — Question papers travel by road in sealed boxes. Digital papers can be encrypted and released only when the exam starts.

⚡

Faster results — Typed scripts can be marked digitally, so candidates could wait weeks instead of months for their WASSCE results.

💸

The cost of paper — Printing, transport, storage and security for millions of scripts are a heavy, recurring national bill.

⚖️

Fairness and access — Devices, electricity and internet must reach every exam centre before paper disappears — or some candidates lose out.

An independent public survey by Ninga Technology on whether WAEC's BECE and WASSCE should be written entirely on computers. Every response is recorded automatically in our live results database.
